2012 Victorian Metropolitan Track Championships

Congratulations to Connor (1st in TT and 2nd in Sprint), Ryan (1st in Pursuit and Sprint, 2nd in TT), Kyle third in the Pursuit, Chloe (2nd in TT and 1st Pursuit), and all other QuickCycle Riders, Jacob, Godfrey, Grace, Angus, Kurt, Micheal, Alistair, and Mitchell.

VSCC

Victorian Schools Cycling Championships

2011

Lygon Street Carlton last Sunday held the VSCC again in the morning before the Jayco Herald Sun Tour.  Quite a few of our riders competed.  Lukas won the U17 Mens section with Kurt and Angus coming 2nd and 3rd in the U15 Mens section.  It was a great atmosphere to race in and most hung around to watch the pros in the afternoon.

2011 Junior Road National Championships

Last week saw quite a number of the QuickCycle Riders riding for the Victorian Team, and some others who went up there to ride as well.  It was a great event with fantastic weather.  Kurt, pictured left, won a bronze medal in the U15 Criterium.  Congratulations Kurt and to Alistair, Mitchell, Braeden, Lukas and Chloe who all rode well.

Cycling Victoria Junior Road Aggregate Results

The Results are in for the Aggregate and many of the QuickCycle Riders have done really well.  In the U17 men Lucas came in with first, Alistair second, Mitchell third and Braeden 4th.  Kurt won the U15 A Grade series and Kyle won the U15 B Grade.  Great results for all the Riders, Congratulations.

Alex

2011 Junior World Track Championships

>Moscow

Alex Morgan, along with Jack Cummings, Alex Edmondson and Jackson Law,  have won a Gold Medal at the Junior Worlds in the Team Pursit.  Their qualifying time was 4.04.80 and they won with a time of 4.02 smashing the old world record of 4.04.448.  World Junior Champions and the new World Record holders.  Congratulations.

 

 

Victorian Junior State Team Announced.

Last week Cycling Victoria announced who the junior members of the State team were.  QuickCycle has riders in most of the age sections, with Chloe in the U15 girls, Kurt in the U15 boys and in the U17 boys we have Alistair, Lukas, Mitchell and Braeden.

Last Friday, the 12th of August, Angus, Kurt and Mitchell from QuickCycle were part of a group of junior cyclists randomly chosen to ride with 2011 Tour de France winner Cadel Evans through the streets of Melbourne.

Chloe

Eildon Junior Tour

July 16th & 17th, 2011

A great weekend at Eildon following on a from another successful camp.  Kyle came second in all his races and came home with the trophy for second overall in the U15B grade.  Kurt was second in the A grade U15's and Chloe also got second in the U15 Womens.  In the U17 A Grade Alistair won the tour and Mitch came third.  Great performances from all our riders, congratulatons to everyone.

Kew Boulevard Time Trial

Sunday June 26th, 2011

Several QuickCycle Riders competed in the Time Trial on the Yarra Boulevard on Sunday.  Everyone rode well and Mitch placed in 2nd B grade.  Great effort guys.

Kurt

Shepparton Junior Tour

June 18th & 19th, 2011

Most of the junior QuickCycle riders competed in the Junior Tour that was mostly held in Dookie.  Dark skies promised rain, but instead it was cold and the sun came out at times.  Everyone rode really well, Kyle put in a great effort and came fourth in the JM15B section, Lucas came fourth in the JM17A section.  Outstanding performance by Kurt (pictured left) to have won the JM15A section.  Congratulations to him and everyone who participated, great weekend of racing.

Northern Combine 3 Day Tour

June Long Weekend, 2011

Conor competed in the 3 Day Tour which is run most years over the Queens Birthday Long weekend, he finished 6th in GC for A Grade, a great performance from Conor.  Thomay also competed.

Oliver Kelly Construction 2 Day Tour

June 11 & 12, 2011

Quite a number of the QuickCycle Under 17 riders went to Tasmania last week for the 2 day tour.  Alistair rode well and won the tour overall, and Mitchell and Lucas also rode well. Congratulations Alistair.

Eildon Junior Camp

June 11 - 13, 2011

The long weekend saw a group of junior riders head up to Eildon to ride on the roads around there and Rubicon.  Majority of the riders were U15.  A great time was had by all.  The photos for each day can be seen on the Quick Cycle facebook page.

Metro and Country Road Championships

Saturday, 28th, and Sunday, 29th of May, 2011

A highly successful weekend for the QuickCycle Riders in the Metro and Country Road Championships.  With Kurt winning M15 (Metro) and Alistair winning M17 (Metro),Chloe Baggs third after a puncture, and Liam was pipped at the post for 4th place in M19.   Also riding in the Metros was Mitchell, Kyle ,Stephen, Conor and Angus (who crashed, but will only need a few days to recover, get well Angus) they all rode really well.  The only QuickCycle rider who rode in the Country's was Lucas who finished first in the main bunch.

Kew ITT

Sunday, 22nd May, 2011

Several of the QuickCycle Riders took part in the Kew ITT on Sunday run by Cycling Victoria, and some then rode in the Time Trial held straight after by BBN.  In the Under 17 TT Lucas Hamilton rode the fastest time and took out the first prize, Alistair had the second fastest with Mitchell getting fourth in their section.  Michael also rode the TT and put in a great time.  In the Under 15's both Kurt, Angus and Kyle all rode it, Kurt had the fastest time with Angus getting the 2nd and Kyle the 4th fastest.  Chloe had the second fastest time for the Under 15 girls.

A great start for Lucas who has now joined the QuickCycle group and is now being coached by Simon.  Congratulations to all the riders.

Ararat Junior Tour

Great performances by Quickcycle riders at the Ararat Junior Tour.

In cold but dry conditions Mick, Ali and Mitchell rode the M17 race with Mitchell 3rd overall.

Angus, Kyle and Kurt rode the M15 race with Kurt 4th overall after missing his TT start.

Chloe rode the W15 race finishing second in the TT

Canberra TourLiz

30 April to the 1st of May, 2011

Some of the QuickCycle riders travelled to Canberra for the Tour last weekend.  Many riding for old teams, or new teams.  Liam was selected to ride for the VIS.  Heidi and Conor both rode in the tour.  Conor rode in B Grade and finished 10th overall after doing well in the two road stages.  Liz was riding in her new sponsors colours and put in an impressive first day of the tour winning the first stage and being crowned Queen of the mountain.  After the following stages Liz ended up second in the general classification.  Congratulations Liz, great weekend of riding and great results.

QuickCycle out training

Over the Easter Weekend the QuickCycle Riders and some friends were out every day training around the mountains and countryside of Melbourne.  They rode up Mt Donna Buang, King Lake, Lake Mountain and out to Yarra Glen.  Lots of great scenery and some happy riders who were keeping count of the number of K's they were doing.
